Award of Specialised Youth Support and Placement Services in Ipswich
Awarded 01 Jul 2023
About
DCSSDS awarded a contract to The Corporation of the Synod of the Diocese of Brisbane for specialised services and support, providing six places for young people with complex to extreme needs across multiple sites in the Ipswich catchment.
The service includes a 16-hour per day awake shift, an 8-hour per day sleepover shift, and an additional 8 hours of support, with flexibility to provide additional places as negotiated.
The service must provide culturally safe and secure support to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander children and young people, maintain cultural identity and connection to family and community, and offer placements for up to six months, extendable by three months with approval.
The service actively engages young people in independent living skills and transition to sustainable longer-term accommodation, including Supported Independent Living.
It also provides placement for young people requiring an address for bail and assertive outreach support, including access to shower, laundry facilities, meals, engagement, and support after hours and weekends.
The case manager and youth workers are shared with service outlet 471641 (Anglicare Southern Queensland – Ipswich Supported Independent Living Service).
The contract value is AUD 4,879,000, procured via limited method.
