Award of Specialized Residential Care Services for Children and Young People with Complex Needs

DCSSDS awarded a contract to Safe Places Community Services Limited for specialized service and support providing 12 places across a minimum of four locations for children and young people with complex support needs.

The service model includes at least one worker to two children at all times, with awake support 16 hours per day plus an 8-hour sleepover shift, 7 days per week, and provides care to improve personal safety, cultural identity, social and community connections, life skills, stable living arrangements, education and employment opportunities, and access to services.

The contract, valued at AUD 14,069,916 and procured via a limited method, requires culturally safe services for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander children and collaboration with government and non-government stakeholders, including Child Safety Service Centres.
